LEED certification

LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is an energetic–environmental quality evaluation system for the realization of “sustainable” buildings, both for new edifications and renovations.

LEED Assigns a score, based on the audited building’s compliance with various prerequisites and credits, allowing to obtain different levels of certification. The criteria are grouped into six categories, which include mandatory prescriptive prerequisites and a number of environmental performances, which together define the final score of the building:

  • Sustainable Sites;
  • Water Efficiency;
  • Energy and Atmosphere;
  • Materials and Resources;
  • Indoor Environmental Quality;
  • Innovation in Design.

LEED certification of a building brings environmental and economic benefits, such as:

  • Timetables and certain costs in planning interventions;
  • Adds value to the building;
  • Increase of rent;
  • Reduction of water and energy consumption;
  • Reduction of emissions and waste;
  • Reduction of taxes, facilitations in obtaining authorizations and other incentives;
  • More health and safety for the tenants;
  • Better quality of life for those living.

Based on the needs and set objectives Ecomag suggests to the customers the best technology solutions on the market to obtain, in the design phase and in the construction phase, the necessary credits for the LEED certification by the Green Building Council and Green Building Certification Institute.
